Like so many writers, I started writing at a very young age. I penned (colored with Crayola might be the better term) a fully illustrated book about my then totally off-the-chart love of horses. Today, you might call me a crime fictionista. My passion is contemporary detective stories, murder mysteries, national security/espionage thrillers, and cozies. I like my bad guys really bad and my good guys giving their all fighting the good fight.
I write gritty-funny-uplifting detective novels with a national security/public safety twist. My main characters, both male and female, are jump into the fray, fighters for justice. They are tough and very likeable. More than one reader has commented: “You made me care about the characters.”
I’m the founding board member of the Grace Filled Fiction Spotlight and its Chair, an organic group of writing professionals who seek to extend the tent pegs of Christian fiction.
I’ve a judge in the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017 Carol Awards in the suspense, mystery, and romantic suspense categories; the Genesis Awards in 2019; an Inspy Awards 2010 judge in the Suspense/Thriller/Mystery category, and and a judge in the Eric Hoffer Awards in 2012 -2018. I’ve written book reviews for The Christian Pulse online magazine.
My four novel Sanctuary Point series (out of print), set in the mid-1940s has finaled, won an award, and garnered critical acclaim. The first novel in the Veronica “Ronnie” Ingels/Dawson Hughes series HARMRUL INTENT won in the Grace Awards 2014 Mystery/Romantic Suspense/Thriller/Historical Suspense category. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and John 3:16 Marketing Network.

Angie, LOL. I don’t do steamy. I write action-packed murder mysteries. I’m sure I’ve come across steamy authors. The Christian edgy author who comes to mind is Michelle Sutton. http://www.michellesutton.net/

Ooops, looks like “Angie” took “her” post about steamy down.

Thanks Marla, Can’t wait to move down. It’s only a matter of months. After being a New York City writer for so many years I’m going to transition into a tropical hard-boiled writer. Such fun. Murder, sea shore, palm trees, and alligators.

“I like my bad guys really bad and my good guys smarter and better.” I love that line so much! I can totally relate. That’s a sentence that’ll be probably running through my mind all day.
